Timetable 2011:

Preparation of input economic data from farms, costing, economic analysis of the current situation in pig breeding and evaluation of the economic effects of length of fattening, carcass weight and number of pigs weaned piglets per sow.

Timetable in 2012:

The database of the economic data of farms was created in the year 2011. The results of saw breeding and pig breeding in 2010 were analyzed. The results were interpreted in dependence on meat performance and with regard to saw performance on economics of pig production in closed herd turnover. These activities will continue in the year 2012.

Timetable in 2013:

The data about key aspect of pig reproduction were collected at the end of the 2012. In 2013, the completed questionnaires are evaluated. The aim of the research in 2013 is to identify the significant factors affecting the ECONOMICS OF pig reproduction. The data are matched to results of annual IAEI survey of economic results of pig breeding.

Timetable in 2014:

We will continue in pig production costs analysis. The cost of pig production in 2013 in the Czech Republic will be analyzed. The most important results and production indicators will be compared within the main EU producers.

IAEI team will analyse company data from 49 farms which are either specialized in pig production or operate pig production within mixed production farm in the period 2007-2012. The link between company data and commodity data allow us more complex insight into pig sector in the Czech Republic. There will be performed financial analysis based on company data. The hypothesis “higher significance of pig production within the farm production worsens the profitability of the farm” will be analysed. The influence of most important costs items (feed, work) on farm economics will be investigated. Revenues sensitivity analysis will be performed.
