The project aims to create a farm system optimization consulting-5, which apparatus is sophisticated software for modeling and simulation of optimal behavior farms. And solutions based on economic conditions of production and farm (production structure, quality of land resources, per hectare yields, livestock performance and cost of agricultural commodities), responding to external economic environment (market prices of agricultural products, support agricultural activities on the basis of the Common Agricultural Policy and its specifications for the CR), respects the principles of good agricultural practices and allows you to select and evaluate management options for environmentally friendly by reducing the negative impacts of agricultural activities on the environment.
FARM-5 system is a system model based on linking and modification of existing modeling tools, such as the optimization model to simulate the behavior of the farm in addition to economic activities and agri-environmental activities and the balance of nutrients N, P, K in the farmland, a model EMI emission A simulated ammonia emissions from farming enterprise to air pollution model of IMI-1, a statistically derived concentration of ammonia from air emissions, deposition model of DEP-1 to allow quantification of the total atmospheric input of nitrogen to the soil (with respect to emissions of ammonia emitted from the farm) and Erosion Model ERO-1 to evaluate the degree of erosion hazard land of the undertaking. Model ERO-1 will also process the proposals of erosion control measures in support of geographic information system GIS allowing the geographical location of erosion control measures and their transformation into a model FARM-5.
Timetable 2011:
A first phase of E001 - Module 1 Development and modification of an optimization model FARM-4 - Specifications and data unification solutions:
- add-cost production of functional dependencies (income / expense),
- clarification of the nutrient balances of N, P, K in the soil for each crop,
- calculation of ammonia emissions on the basis of the cost structure and business model for erosion-control measures.
Timetable in 2012:
- Development of a model for the calculation of ammonia emissions from animal production (housing, storage and application of manure and slurry and pasture periods) according to the principles of animal and vegetable production.
- Derivation of relationship issues - air pollution of ammonia in farm.
- Development of a model for the total atmospheric deposition of nitrogen to the soil.
- Development of a model of erosion and automate the calculation model for FARM-5.
- FARM complementation model 5 with models of deposition (DEP), nitrogen and soil erosion (ERO).
Timetable in 2013:
Module 3: A development of the erosion model ERO-1.
The model will evaluate the level of water erosion on agricultural land of holdings. It will be possible assess in more variants. Evaluation results are based on data from the evidence of agricultural land (LPIS) and other available data of soil categorization, which are processed in the GIS.
Basic entering data for model ERO-1 are rain factor, land slope, soil type, crop on arable land, soil texture, applied measures which are located on land blocks.
The stage will be addressed problem areas:
Creation of the catalog of erosion control measures and selection for the case holdings
Evaluation of area and linear measures
Assessment measures under GAEC and agri-environmental measures
Reduction of soil loss in different variants for subsequent processing model FARMA-5
Technical description and cartographic output stage ERO-1
Further development of the model DEP-1 and connection models DEP-1 and ERO-1 in the base model FARMA-5.
Timetable in 2014:
The operational software device for the project FARMA-5 will be completed in the last year of the project, i.e. 2014. It is a device for farmers, advisory services or another use.
The advisory system FARMA-5 can serve as the basis of the methodology for designing and evaluating future development of farms and at the same time it allows respecting specific production-economic and organizational conditions.
The software device enables to study various behaviour of agricultural holdings in terms with the objectives of the CAP of the EU, i.e. to ensure sustainable agricultural development with respect to the requirements of GAEC and the environment-friendly agricultural technologies.
All the activities will be led to the completion of the project in 2014. The work group will test the model in farms and will make final technical comments and recommendations.
